INTRODUCTION

The Staff development and support policy of the MSc Program “Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning” aims at the continuous, multifaceted and interdisciplinary development of the human resources of the Program, and represents a central objective of the quality policy of the MSc Program. In this course, staff support and development efforts are focused on creating and maintaining an environment that encourages continuous training and interdisciplinary collaboration of the MSc Program staff, which is a dynamic scientific community dedicated to practice and learning, aiming at continuous improvements in the educational, research and administrative fields.

ADOPTED POLICIES

In order to serve the above, a series of policies are adopted in the course of supporting the development of the academic and administrative staff of the MSc Program.

A. As regards the teaching staff:

  1. Professional Development. Teaching staff are encouraged and supported to participate in personal development activities, such as training courses organised by the Centre for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning, Erasmus+ programmes, and scientific conferences.
  2. Systematic evaluation and proposals for improvement of the teaching process. The MSc Program makes use of the procedures and mechanisms for the evaluation of the curricula adopted by the Quality Assurance Unit of the University of West Attica. In particular, through the online completion of anonymous questionnaires by postgraduate students using a relevant application, it provides regular evaluations of the curriculum. Then, through the study of the results of these evaluations, it proposes improvement actions, thus providing the teaching staff with the necessary recommendations.
  3. Development of Scientific Skills. Staff is encouraged to participate in research and innovation projects, with the support of scientific leaves and the provision of necessary specialised equipment, through the University Laboratories that support the MSc Program, as well as equipment acquired within the framework of the MSc Program.
  4. Social Responsibility. The staff is encouraged to participate in actions to disseminate the results of the research project to society, such as events for the general public, open workshops, visits and exhibitions, announcements in social networks, promoting contact with the public.

B. As regards administrative staff:

  1. Education and Training. Administrative staff is encouraged and supported to participate in personal development activities, such as training courses organised by the Centre for Training and Lifelong Learning, to continuously upgrade their skills.
